Default Fine Tuning: Tips and Tricks

If you were going to clean the carb and tune it maybe at least a new AIR FILTER (if not done already). Lots of opinions on this one but maybe a K&N Air filter may give you more AIR for better performance. But you research that one out here, lots of threads, all depends on your riding conditions. Maybe address your exhaust since you are tuning air flow. I don't know is your exhaust the type you can re-pack? Or is it better to upgrade that, I am just mentioning things as I don't have any exp. with exhaust "yet", LOL.

Glad to hear about all your successes!

Thanks RtiK...
You bring up a good point about the air filter and riding conditions. I did see one thread talking about how Polaris air filters were better... BUT... I mostly use my rig for "around the house" type stuff (moving things around, cutting grass, plowing, and buzzing around the perrimeter for kicks). I don't have to deal with excessive dust or mud or anything like that. I do have a gravel driveway, but other than that it is either grass or snow. I don't really do any "mudding" or trail riding... it is more of a work-horse.

In those conditions, I would theorize that a filter that allows more air "might" be a better choice... ? Anybody else have an opinion?

The K&N and UNI supposedly increase the air flow significantly! There is alot of debate if it is a better
"filter" since it more of a "Air flow". It does the job well, but when I do the hardpack dusty riding
I will pop my paper stock filter in for that, one trip on that trail my K&N is all mucked so its more
maintenance.

Seems to improve the startup and holeshot if you will, IMO.

Cheers,

R'
