Setting my timing
#1
Timing adjusting procedure....anyone know it. Im a hour away from my manual with my ATV here in front of me. Ive taken out the plug and i see some hash marks on the flywheel but thats it. Am i just needing to see the marks on the flywheel as it passes by or is there something they need to reference to?

take the flywheel off and check the stator plate. there is a mark on the housing and a mark on the plate. i believe it is on the left side screw (when your looking at it). those should like up. make sure the woodruff key is good on the flywheel and put it all back together. the timing marks on the flywheel are for modded motors i believe. with electronic ignitions theres not really any way it can be off without something out of alignment

Ok...we rebuilt the engine and its got a noise in it. The builder says that its timing related and that i needed to check it...this was after he listened to it. we put a light on it and it was good. but, my flywheel has 4 lines intstead of three like shown in the manual.
Ok , it gets worse. the case has no lines in it to act as a pointer to line up the stator plate. Ive moved the plate one way or another and the noise gets worse as its moved.
