Default Left front brake fluid leaking

All -

While doing projects on the bike today (I just wanna ride)
I noticed when putting my bike away on the left top
front brake reseviour (Sp?) the brake fluid was seeping
out and bubbling a bit at the crease.

This is weird b/c I hadn't rode it today minus backing
it up. Any ideas? It didn't seem loose? Could there be
too much tension on my front brake? I did remove my
mirror mount and put on the bar ends, but I thought the
brake assembly was pretty much positioned in the same
place before and after.

Thoughts?

Much obliged!

If its the solid master cylinder with sight glass, seems to be a common problem, have been seeing a few seeping down the resevoir bowl. I would remove cover, clean the edge of the resevoir and cap groove. Has full line mark inside resevoir body, but I would lower the level just a bit! Havent heard anything from Polaris on this yet!

Okay cool thanks OPT! I will do that on my next day when I can pull it out. Good tip!

Based on my mishap on Thanksgiving, I don't want any issues with Throttle or braking or
steering. Well none for that matter, LOL. Thanks again!

did you ever add any brake fluid to the res.? just wondering if it had to much in it? check the rubber as well when you have it apart to see if its distorted(out of shape) to see if it needs repalcing.

Stendori et al,

I should of mentioned that to begin with, good point! No I hadn't
added any fluid. Never touched the res. Never opened it etc. Could
pumping the brakes do that? Or leaving it in for extended periods?
Maybe I could of done that, I don't know?

Very puzzeling?

Thanks for all the info.

Most of the ones I've seen leaking, when I pulled the cap were still close to level mark! I think being maybe overfull from factory and pressure buildup could be the problem. Thats why I lower the level below the mark when I clean em up!

I had a similar problem with mine.....I have a habit of putting the parking brake on everytime I park the machine even if it's in park...I never really saw any fluid actually bubble out but I can see where the finish is kinda bubbled at the crease...I figured it was just from built up pressure from having the parking brake on for a prolonged period of time......If you click on my photos and go to the symtec controller pic you can see what I'm talking about...

All -

I finally got out this weekend and checked it out. Well it seems that the fluid is just below the
level. So I didn't take any out yet. It DIDN'T look OVERFILLED. Anyways I did what you said OPT,
and cleaned around the cap and groove, the rubber seal etc. etc. The seal did not seem dry-rotted,
brittle or anything. Seems good. I re-seated and carefully tighten down. I notice the seal DOES
bulge out abit under tightening, I inspected it to my cuz 700 and seems to be the same w/r to
tightness and seal bulge.

I PUMPED THE FRONT BRAKE A FEW TIMES and still noticed the small minoot bubble seepage one on the
front side another in the back. Do I have a bad rubber seal? Please check out my PICS from different
angles.

Sorry for some blurs in close shots. The white indicates the bubble areas. This photo-album has a couple
rusted header pipe pics too, LOL.
