Default Oil Change Kits

My dealer told me today that the oil change kits were the same for both the 850's and 550's. I thought I had read on the forum that they were different filters anyway.
The PN is 2877473 and costs around $28.00
Any thoughts or comments?

When I bought my kit is said it was for either the 850/550. Same kit. So the filter is the same.

Yes, they are the same. The Xp kit is for Xp's. The single cylinder kit is for 500's and the twin cylinder kits are for 600,700, 800's.

I do think I remember my oil change kit saying it was for both but strangely the oil filter part numbers are different if you look at the Polaris parts fiche...
550-3089996
850-2520799

They do take the same oil though..per the owner's manual.

The same filter with 2 different numbers? That is strange!
If the filters are different then how can the kits be the same?

It could be as simple as the 550 comes from Fuji with a filter installed, could be the same specs but different manufacturers. Also some have noticed on some models that the filter that comes from the factory on the machine looks slightly different than the "OEM" replacement.
So while the 850 and 550 might use the same specs for the filter the actual filter from the factory is likely made by different manufacturers...that is my theory anyway,lol..
