I can get a good deal on a 05 predator in great shape, just wondering how these things do on trails, smallish jumps and wheelies. Nothing major or pro, just typical riding. Compare to the z400 or 400ex if possible.

Also how about the reliability of the pred. I would rather spend a few hundred more on the honda or suzuki if they are that much more reliable.

I have an 07 and really like my Pred. The Fuji Motors rate out really well only gripe is having to do a valve adjustment every 30 hours or so but some guys report riding for hundreds of hours with out doing one just depends how bad you beat on it. I haven't had any problems besides a couple burned out headlights in the 40 hours of I have riden it. Its faster then a 400 EX espeically if you put a filter and exhaust on it with time. This will really bring it to life. The 05 is nice as this was the first year they put revese on it which I guarntee comes in handy and you wont find on any 400EX. Ohh buy the way the Fuji motor is actually made by Suzuki. I have kept mine pretty well maintained and treats me good so I would highly recommend it! Good Luck

OK, got the predator. It is a little to much for me right now but I think I will get used to it. I am having a problem with keeping the front down (strange to what I have read about them on here). Can someone tell me how to adjust the shocks to help with this problem?

Did you get an owners manual or service manual with it? It goes over in there but not sure thats going to keep the front end down?, maybe the rear needs to be adjusted to?? Haven't messed with mine at all as it been a pretty good fit but your have the remote resevoirs correct? So they should have the quick adjust dials don't they? which in that case you might just have to do some trial and error? If nothing else you should be able to find a service manual for free and down load it. My other suggestion is to check out and become a member of predatorowners.com You can do a search and probably find your answer or post it as you will get a lot more answers then you will in here. Good Luck!

Check your sprockets, they may have changed them to get more low end power. You could get a smaller rear sprocket and that should raise the gearing up a bit and maybe not be such a wheelie machine. You'll get used to it with time, just don't kill yourself (ride within your abilities)!

I don't think the Pred is for a beginner rider but if you use some common sense you should be o.k. I traded my 03 in, in oct 08 and never had a problem with it whatsoever. It was awesome! I have been having some back problems and hated seeing it sit in the shed, so I got rid of it and bought the cadillac of quads(SPORTSMAN!!!)

Rowe is right on with the sprockets. Often people drop a tooth up front to increase low end speed. I'm pretty sure stock is 14 teeth up front and 37 teeth rear, somebody correct me if I'm wrong. I had an 05 preddy and now have an 07 troy lee. What mods do you have on yours?

I have had no problems with any of my preddys. The only problem I had with my 05 was that someone else liked it more than I did and decided they should take it! LOL!

I think you picked a better atv than the other two options. I had a z400 before my preddy and it is a good quad, but doesn't compare to the preddy, imo!

Congrats!
