I have been doing a lot of work on my Scrambler as it needed some work after a summer of thrashing and river running. How hard is it to charge in-line oil and fuel filters? It is hard to say if mine have ever been changed.

I change mine often. I go through a lot of spark plugs (never fouled one) and filters. I think changing them often is a cheap way to keep your bike running at its peak. I went to Sears and bought a hose clamp for around $10. Clamp this on before the filter, towards the supply of fluid. It keeps it from draining while you are changing the filter. Then squeeze the tension clamp and slide it up the hose away from the filter. Install new filter, squeeze clamp down the hose over the filter nub, release hose clamp. Ride.

Do I need to get the fuel filter from the dealer, or can I get one from an auto store?
