I have a 2007 Honda Rancher 420. It has been well maintained, even with oil changes. It sat outside for a month or so without running and now it blows smoke out of the exhaust that smells like oil. What could it be and what should I check?

 

The cylinder wall probably flash rusted and the rings need to clean them back up and re-seat. As long as it slows down or stops smoking after a hour or so I wouldn't worry to much.

Well, it hasn't always done that. It started smoking after it had been sitting. But I was trying to run it some today and it killed on me and now it won't start.

 

have you tried changing the gas yet? todays gas will start to seperate after about 2 weeks of sittiing

 

No not yet. I need to go get some.
