Turn the key to the ON position, the over on the Stop/Start switch, push it up while it's in the ON position. That's how it is on my 2000 Boss.

Just put your thumb under the switch and kinda roll it upwards.</end quote></div>

thats the right way. i hate it. that switch can go bad if mud ever gets in there and dont try to clean it. the housing to go off like a grenade and shoot springs and ball bearings everywhere

Thanks eggenz....that does the trick. Now i just have to figure out why it's not starting. The starter itself is working, but not engaging the motor, so I'm guessing that the gear is either not engaging or is totally shot and needs to be replaced. As of yet I don't have an owner's manual for this thing and it's totally different than anything I've had before, so I'm going to wait to start taking it apart, lol...any insight into this. Have you ever had to change or repair the starter or gear(s)?

God, I love my Suzuki Quadsport!!

your bendix is probably bad. not hard to get to and replace. pull the flywheel housing off and the gear is in the bottom left hand side. probably just needs to be freed up and a little heavy weight oil put on it.

This is a very large file, but will be very useful to you. Year model is different than yours, but the processes on all of it will be the same.
