Fuel and Breather Filter - 2000 SP500
#1
Hi Guys,
I have a 2000 SP500 with about 1200 miles. I've been religious on oil & oil filter changes, plugs, air filter, hub fluids, etc. However, I've never bothered to replace the fuel filter or breather filter... and want to replace em this year before the riding season starts. Any suggestions as far as going OEM vs. using equivalents from the local auto parts store? I assume the fuel filter is just a standard 1/4" in-line filter that could be substituted with anything similar, but I'm not sure how proprietary the breather filter is. I'd hate to order the two OEM parts from Partsland since the shipping costs more than the parts themselves.
Also, any other maintenance I should be doing besides the "big stuff" while I'm in there?
Thx.

i would just stay with the one you get from the dealer. but i would run ams oil and ams oil filter on it. I would also put a K&N air filter on it. and i would put a NGK Iridium IX Spark Plug. It may cost a little more but in the long run you will be happy you did it.
