I just bought a Warn XT25 winch to replace the P.O.S. polaris winch that came on my 07 800X2 DLX. Does anyone know if this will bolt on to the mount that came stock on my X2 or do I have to buy the Warn mount. Figured I'd ask before I start tearing things apart and have to wait for a different mounting plate. Thanks!

 

not sure, i had my polaris winch upgraded during warranty to the warn 3000. what did happen though is the grill that mounts over it doesnt fir anymore, the warne winch is more centered than the polaris one was and the hole in the grate sits off center for the polaris winch.

 

I can cancel the order if that's the case. Is there anything out there that will fit the stock set up?

 

I have a Warn 2500ci on both my quads. It fit very nicely with the kit to mount to my X2. Not sure about the XT25. Try calling Warn at 1.800.543.9276.

 

i dont know for 100% but i pretty sure that the new xt winches mount differntly because they are more centered. mind you this is what i have read i beleave. maybe someone who has both can tell you for sure. as far as another one that would bolt right up, you could find a warn 3,000 CE or 2,500 CE winch which should be the same as the polaris ,gorilla and other mounting brackets. warn stop making these and went to the xt version i think but i have the 3,000 ce and love mine w/ no issues. imo.

 

any winch will fit the stock set i just bought a new warn winch and it fit no problem

 

there are different holes on the mounting plate. just used the ones the centers the winch with the grill.

 

theres only 1 set of holes on the older mounting plates so maybe the newer style plates will work if they have more then one set of holes for sure.

 

i believe the dlx has a the cover plate similar to my browning addition, its not the bracket that didnt fit, it was the external cover that hides the winch. it looks fine without the cover. mine was the 3000 polaris/warn with the red tagand they upgraded for me during the warrantee period. different mounting holes wouldnt have worked with this particular winch, the fairleads are just in a different place

 

I guess at this point I'll just keep the XT25 and buy the mount if need be. Thanks for all the help everyone!!
