250 mods
#1
I recently purchased my trail blazer back in jan. I really like the bike with the exception of horsepower. I know I can go with an aftermarket pipe, filter and clutch kit for extra power so my question is this. Will I be able to feel and see the horsepower difference after the trouble of outfitting my bike with all the mods. Without telling me I should have purchased a bigger bike can I be satisfied with the 250. I'm trying to keep up with a 350 warrior(no mods). Thanks

My buddy bought a 2000 TrailBlazer. He was less than satisfied with its lackluster performance. He put a HPD pipe/silencer/clutch kit on it. He was amazed with the difference. He can stand it straight up from a dead stop. He also climbs hills that he never would have attempted before.

Specifically, the Stage 1 Performance Kit from RCR gets you a pipe, silencer, clutch spring (full clutch kit for $65 dollars extra), hi flow air filter and bigger carb jet. If you call Rick Ritter, he will ask you a few questions and put together the right stuff for your riding conditions and preferences. He is a real good guy to deal with.

Scramblazer,
Thanks for all the info. I'm going to call Rick about the package deal for $325. I just have one, actually two more questions. First what is the advantage of a clutch kit verses just purchasing the springs. Last, I've heard bad things about making airbox mods? We're only talking about filter changes, right?

Beef,
With the clutch kit, you get a secondary, as well as a primary spring, along with new flyweights, as opposed to just one spring that you get with the Stage 1 kit. There is quite a perfomance difference between the two.
Besides changing the stock air filter to a performance filter, such as the Uni-Filter, or the K&N, which is highly recomendable, some people with the TrailBlazer cut the air intake back a few inches, because the stock setup is quite restricting.
