2008 sportsman 500 x2
A buddy of mine just bought the 500 x2 on Thursday and paid $7,100 out the door in Nevada.
It'll fit fine in a short bed, but if you put bumpers/brush guard on it you will be partially on the tail gate.
Ditto on what was said above about the rear window. Another friend of mine broke his this afternoon going over a speed bump - didn't allow enough room!
I use aluminum ramps I got at Costco for $70 last summer. They don't budge with my new touring model. Make sure to tie the ramps to the tail gate before using them - too many horror stories out there!

wow, that video is the exact reason you should use those little blacd straps that come with the ramps. I never used to use my until mine slide out from under my machine. I didn't flip like that guy did but I smashed up my tailgate pretty good. Cost me over $800 to repair the tail gate.

I also wear my helmet loading and unloading too - a neighbor had a flat loading his and fell off - he got away from the quad, but banged his head petty good and got a concussion.
Kinda of feel like a dork, but it sets a good example for the kids too. Defensive thinking goes a long way in active sports (quads, bikes, skiing), and hey we need something to offset the testosterone!

Well, I'm a Polaris owner now. Bought it on Wednesday and have rode it all weekend. So far so good. I climbed a pretty steep hill w/ it and it went up w/ no problems! Thank yall for the advice. Now I need to know of any tips when loading it into a truck. Do you need to stand up and lean forward to keep it from flipping backwards? I know to tie the ramps down so I don't end up like charlie or whatever that guys name is that is on youtube. supposed to keep a steady speed going up the ramp??
Thanks again
