I installed a LockNRide windshield on My 400 sptmn.and it worked out just fine.It was a bit of a bear to get it clipped on but I have had no issues with it coming unlatched.I do`nt think mine had any holes for retainer pins but there is stubs that the latches snap over that keeps them from coming unlatched.
I`ll take a couple of pics of the latches and post em for You in the morning.

If You ca`nt return the windshield or got such a good deal You do`nt want to then maby the latches can be drilled and a small retainer pin or bolt put through them.I think the latches on Mine were aluminum so drilling would`nt be an issue,an issue might be if there is not enough room to drill them without destroynig them.

i wish i would have took a closer pic of the latches. but where the stubs i think are supose to be are gone. so drilling woldnt help. since theres noting to drill into. and my clips and pretty much everything is plastic cept the hinge pins and the threaded bolt....

I was thinking that there might be room to drill right through the middle of the latch.
It is dark outside else I`d wade through the snow and take a peek at Mine to see.LOL

Here`s a pic of the right side latch on Mine,Frost and all.LOL
If the guy wo`nt take it back then I think it would be feasible to drill a hole through the latch assembly and install a 1/8" or a 3/16ths" pin or screw through it to keep it secured.

You can see the nub sticking through the hole.
