Exclamation 2007 Sp500 - recoil

While washing my quad last night I noticed that the 'nipple' for lack of a better word for the pull cord was loose, thankfully before "it got the hose again". Anybody else seen these things rattling loose?

Never thought to check. Going to next time I go outside. It's pouring rain here today, so hopefully I remember tomm. I'll subscribe to the thread to remind me. Good looking out on something else to check.

What nibble on a recoil? You mean the pull cord handle?

Default Nipple Explanation

By 'nipple' I mean the piece of what looks like plastic that the handle is seated on. I thought it was all part of the recoil housing but turns out it was loose on the pull cord. Easy fix!

Yes ,you do not water especially muddy water getting down that hole, the $350 stator, Bendix drive and pluse coil are down there. I silicon the handle over that hole.

That's why I was warning you guys, I think you could have siliconed to the part that came unscrewed, and might still be susceptable to water damage. Wonder if a bit of Loc-tite is in order here?

So nobody has had this little thing rattle loose everytime they ride their quad??

Think it's OK to put loctite on this?? Please let me know if a picture of this little seat for the recoil handle is needed.
