Default 07 800 x2 4x4 problems

I have 07 800 x2 which has 4x4 problems.

The 4x4 light shows up on the gauges.

There is no click between turf, 2x4, 4x4.

Checked for power to the diff and there IS power.

If i'm in reverse then 4x4 works!!! Just going forwarn it doesn't work.

I see a starter looking thing on the right side of the diff if that a solenoid or something? 2 wires are going to it. Any help would be good my machine is out of warranty.

are you saying when you push your override in when in reverse you have awd in all wheels? does your turf button work to make you have only limited slip in the rear while not in awd? when you have it inawd in forward does the turf slip lock up as it supposed too? just a couple questions to help.

Going forward only 1 wheel drive works Turf mode..sometimes 2x4 works.

The only time 4wd works is when the overdrive switch is pressed and in reverse.

Must be the selenoid for the turf mode, you should be able to here that kick in and out, if not I would start there cause I think that does affect 4wd engagement, havent had to work on these yet so not really sure, maybey OPT. has some thoughts.

I read posts where the symptom of the plastic roller cage breaking in the front diff was awd working in reverse only,
