Default roll pin on tranny yoke 05 800

Guy's anyone had any issues with the roll pin coming out? I've replaced a few in my time but I just put a new one in my 05 800 and first ride it eased out about a 1/4 inch second ride as well....I only use Polaris pins and only install new ones...Any Ideas? I plan on putting a nother new one in and maybe putting some Blue Locktite on the pin when I do...Any Ideas and thoughts are greatly appreciated...And God Bless

Do you have enough room to just use a bolt and a lock nut and be done with it? That one is close to te tranny case on the top sode right? Still might have room if you use a low profile lock nut.

Sounds like your yoke might be a little out of round. I had the same problem on my 05 800. My Polaris dealer also sells Ariens snowblowers. They had some snowblower shear bolts with locknuts that were just long enough and the right diameter to fit snug in the hole and attach the locknut. Never had any issues after that.

If it isn't ovalled then it is probably being caused by the play with the splines. They do get a little loose on the yokes over time and that little bit of play will be enough to work the pin out.

My 08 800 HO has been doing the same thing since day 1. When I remove he pin, it is actually broken. Had it to the dealers once and they replaced both yokes and the shaft and still doing it, but not as frequent. Actually only happens when I drive it hard in mud in low gear. They said they would take tranny apart and have a look but I decided against that. (lol) Dont want them messing around in the tranny. I have since had a buddy install 2 split pins (1 large and one to fit inside it) instead and so far so good.
Please post if problem is found. I still have until December 2009 for warranty.

Could you put a hose clamp around it to hold it?
