Well, I questioned him about all the parts he replaced. He said for the fuel pump he had a neighbor who cut his fuel line. He said he had to replace the whole pump. For the other things he said he didn't have a manual and was chasing a problem by replacing things. He seems like a decent guy. But, I guess you never know.

If the other side of the jeep looks as good as the side you show keep the jeep. We have 2 500HO's that same year that look like show room compared to that SP. It's had some very hard use, no way for you to tell all that is bad on it.

Well, I went against everyone's advice. I knew it was probably a bad idea, but I wanted out of that jeep and I really wanted a ATV to mess around with. So, after installing a new stator, battery, and starter Solenoid(which I toasted) she is up an running like a champ. I just rode it for a good hour with no issues. I know its still a rough ATV, but it is close to what I want and I don't have to deal with payments.

Thanks man. While the jeep ran and I didn't screw the guy, it wasn't as good as it looked from that picture. Trust me, I am not an idiot. I have been a Jeep XJ owner for a long time and at best I could have got $1300 for that jeep. Now I have a running 02 Sportsman 500. I will clean it up and shoot some better pics than those original ones I posted. I don't think its as bad as it first appeared.

If he wants YOUR Jeep bad enough..................Tell him to get the stator and the quad running BEFORE the even trade...........Than at least you can take the Sportsman for a ride first..........Sounds fair to me....Caper.........

Congrats on the new ride! Hope she treats you well...

IMO...might want to take a few hrs...and change ALL fluids. Just a fresh start for your new ride...

Good luck...and enjoy the heck out of her!

He gave me a manual so I just read about checking all the fluids. I am going to do a oil change and then check everything else as well. I had a blast on this thing yesterday.
