Which engine in 850?
#1
I remember reading a thread about some of the early 850s having a different engine? I have an early one and was just curious which mine was. I believe it had to do with the cylinder wall. I have searched and searched and am unable to find the thread. Thanks

I heard of the 800 being called a 800 H.O at some point due to a change of some kind.
The 850 only has been out less than year I think so I doubt they had time to do anything yet.

What's the difference? Also...was there a cut off date from one type to another?
Thanks!

I dont know if there is a date but look where plumbob said. It should read to the effect LEO85011. If 11 is the last 2 digits it is nicasil. If the last 2 digits 12 it is iron. You can search it. The consensus is basically nicasil is good but dont know why they stopped putting them in. It could be cost. There could have been a problem. Dont know.

the nicasil cyclinders are supposed to be stronger and longer lasting, but i think you can bore out cast iron easier. not 100 % sure
