trailblazer shift is hard

Smile trailblazer shift is hard

this weekend my son and did some hard riding lots of mud, raceing and hill climbing and this morning we pulled them off the trailer and cleaned them and he went up and down our street 2 dry his trailblazer off and when he got back it was stuck in reverse so i rocked back and fourth i heard a click and tried to change gears and it was really hard to change i know he needs a front sprocket it looks really worn it that the source of the problem or is it somthing else it runs fine but really hard to change directions thanxxxxxxx

the spoket wouldnt have anything to do w/ it. does the bike seem to want to creep ahead while idling? if not then maybe the linkage is out of adjustment. does it shift fine when its off and bad when its running? if its not the linkage, it might be a bent shifting fork inside the transmission. just a few things for ideas.

Probably shift fork, but , unless your son has driven it harder than my son, the fork shouldn't be bent. It has an o-ring at the top and they go bad and water/crap gets down in there and will casue the shift fork to rust. Take it out and get you some emory cloth and polish it back up. I've had to do this to mine twice.
