My old clutch is shot. It has about 10000 miles on it. Can I swap it with a newer style clutch and just switch the weights and spring? Can I use the same belt? I don't have all the right tools to fix it myself but am curious how much the tools and rebuild kit would cost because I like to fix things myself. Anybody know this also? It is on a 2000 magnum with ebs.

As long as you are replacing a EBS with EBS it will work

if your is non ebs it will not work.

If you will replace both clutches to the new style it will help the performance of your machine, get the roller secondary and new primary off of an 07 or newer, I got two off of e-bay for $250.00.work great, did change weights in primary, can use your old ebs belt.

Thanks for the replies. So kerbbirds did you end up using the same weights and springs? With the better performance were you able to pull more weight? Anybody know about how many $ it takes in tools to service the clutch completely?

yes I used original weights and blue spring. Go to Victor Specialty Tools on the computer or call 585-742-1790 the clutch puller is $25 the holding fixture is $75 and the spider tool is $35.

Thanks for the info Kerbbirds. When reading other info on the net, do I need the jam nut removal socket, button removal tool, or any others, or can I make something work to service those parts if I go that route?

all you need is a primary clutch puller and regular sockets to pull off the bolts that hold each clutch on in the center. the puller can be bought or made out of a 3/4" fine thread long bolt. imo

I use regular hand tools for those, but you will need the above tools to get the clutch apart to service the ebs washers and one way bushing.
