Im looking into getting a winch for my 08 touring 800. Anyone have any suggestions or comments about the polaris vs the warn winches? i deffintly want 3000lb or better. Thanks

I have the polaris 3500# and has worked flawlessly so far. It made it through a tough winter of commercial snow plowing. I also have a Warn it's good too. They make about the same level of noise and same line speed. The warns cable is tougher than popo's. But I love my Amsteel blue synthetic on my Viper winch. As far as that goes, it's a good winch too.

 

WARN, only way to go. Polaris winchs are crap!

If you have the money get the Warn, line speed, long life and if you have a choice go with the synthetic cable. I have a superwinch and it works good, but the Warn is easier to free spool and the line appears to handle better when spooling up and does not twist or get tangled as much.

 

I throught warn made polaris winches.

 

an overseas company makes the cheap polaris winches now(the ones that come stock on the bikes) the ones that used to say polaris on it also said made for polaris by warn or had a warn sticker on it. imo

 

im saving up for a Warn lol

 

WARN or be stuck in the woods saying "I shoulda got a warn"
