My O4 330 Magnum's electric start works every now and then. The recoil starter works all the time.

I'm getting lights and instruments, but no key start.

The battery and solenoid are brand new.

Ideas? Bad ignition switch? Other gremlin?

Next time it does'nt work, hit the starter with a hammer a couple times and see if you can make it work, I'm betting it's the starter.

 

You have to take the starter apart and clean and lube the brushes and get them to slide freely once more, not a hard job.
