What would you bid??

I have the chance to submit a closed bid on a bank reposessed quad. It looks to be in pretty good shape. The only thing that scares me a little is that all I have to go on is one picture supplied by the bank. Here is all that I know:
2005 Sportsman 800 (Red & Black)
Factory wheels and good tires - looks like a lot of tread left
MSRP was $8,599
Blue Book is $4,950
Question is "What would you bid"?

i'm sure alot of people think like the post above , not too smart though just because you can't make the payments and they take it back, does'nt really mean that your off scott free and can trash it for satisfaction purposes , the lender could care less what condition its in, they sell it to the highest bidder , could be 5 bucks if you toasted it, you still owe X amount , say 5000! do you really think they are just going to let you slide on that .. no way
and i hope you got the satisfaction from "sticking it to them" cuz they're laughing all the way to small claims court, where they get a judgment for the difference and your now stuck paying for a quad you'll never get to ride, possibly for years
just a thought

I'd offer $1000 for it. If you get it...you got a steal, if you don't then you havn't lost out on anything. Not crancking??? Hmmm...dead battery perhaps? $25-55 bucks. Maybe repo guy left key turned on. My advice, offer what it would be worth to you to buy knowing you might need to do some repairs.
