Hello,
I have a 1995 warrior and I ride with my brother he has a 99 wolverine and neighbour he has a 2000 special edition kodiak 400. And I have came to realize that I need a 4x4 for where I ride (trails in alberta canada) so I'm thinking about getting the new Scrambler X 500 because I need to have the most power of my ride crew and I want to have something that handle's great for a 4x4. I like my bro's wolverine but it is drastically underpowered and we have already had the ignition break on it and the quad is a real pain. So should I get the new X cause I need a real sporty 4x4? anyone have any facts on how scrambler 500 4x4's do against the aftermetioned machines for performance?

Thanks
BUB

Have you had a chance to do the trail with a 400ex. I'd be curious of the time. I would bet on your trail, based on the pics I saw, the SC500 4x4 would be faster. What do you think?

I seen the trail pics and the 400EX would lose alot of time when you have to get off of it and push it through the long snow sections.

Bubbagodkin, if you really like the look of the X I would have to believe that Polaris will soon be offering the black plastic. The only difference from what I can tell are the wheels, brush guard and graphics. You could probably turn your Scram 500 4x4 into your own version of the X with about 700$ or less.

Thanks for the detailed response. I checked out a SC500 4x4 at the dealer yesterday. The handlebars seemed much higher than on my quad. Does that seem to help or hurt on the trails, how about for jumps? Thanks.

I thought the overall feel of my SC500 was abit weird at first but I dont even notice a difference anymore. One of the guys I ride with has a Suzuki 250 I think its a quad runner or king quad Im not sure but it is a very small machine in height, he has ridden mine a number of times and has mentioned the height of both the quad and the tall bars but after a few minutes on my quad he liked the feel. As far as the bars effecting jumping the SC500 isnt going to fly as well as a pure sport quad. I have never felt the height of the bars had any effect on jumpimg ability. Hope this helps.
