I took the unassembled jet and piston/needle and put them together. Seemed like a lot of play there. I know it can't be totally shut off or it wouldn't idle. It just seemed like a lot. What should I expect here??? Seems like I shouldn't be able to move it around that much. I don't see any ridges on the needle

More info:
(1) poured gas in the float bowl and both floats came to the top and were floating with half out of the gas - considering this normal unless someone says different

(2) forgot to mention that when it was running, turing the idle screw all the way in or all the way out made no difference - seems like this may indicate it was flooding??
IF it runs better after turning fuel off,THEN replace the needle and seat!!! GETTING TOO MUCH gas!

Ok....finally figured out the problem.....I think....I reassembled everthing and noticed the throttle piston would not return down all the way. I opened the throttel control assembly on the handlebar and noticed that the cable would not return very well through the cable. I disconnected the cable and noticed it was kind of tight. If I worked with it a little bit, the throttle piston would move all the way down. I also lubed the throttle piston with a little oil. I also noticed a split in the cable and the other cable going to maybe the oiler? I decided to dump a little lubricant down the cable and work with it a little. After some time it loosened up to where it would return all the way after I pulled it out. I hooked it all back up and now it runs like a champ! Actually it hasn't run this good since I bought it. I'm wondering if the throttle cable was dumping too much oil into the mix because it was stuck. It was throwing a ton of smoke before fixing it. Now I don't see anywhere near that amount coming from the exhaust.

Any ideas?

Now time for rear axle bearings, tie rod ends, and steering post bushing, starter....

Don't let the hp numbers fool you. Its all in how you get it to the ground. Clutching clutching clutching!

YEa take the plate off that covers the injector cable and clean it out good and lube the cable down there too.
