Unless you have modifications done, like a race pipe, you don't need to run any higher than the minimum in the owners manual. Higher octane does not mean more power.

Default Gas

Made to run on 87 octane. I run the non-oxygenated gas in mine which is only available in 91 octane here in MN which sucks(more $). I also use fuel stabilizer(always) and run some sea foam occasionally to keep the system clean.

The manual recommends 87 octane. I never run anything less.

I also use regular and run stabilizer. Unless you burn a tank per week, you should use fuel stabilizer.

Rcher my friend, it would send you to the moon to really know that you are not actually getting a "true" 87 Octane when you fill at the pump. Many tests have been done, and 87 Octane is lucky to tip the scales at 85 when an additive is removed from the equation, and believe me, sitting in a large tank underground offers many opportunities for the Gas to separate.
