Default Electrical Advice??

Appreciate any feedback folks will have. I recently purchased several accessories from Quadovator such as the engine temp. qauge, cooling fan on switch and the 3 headlight mod all of which I have wired into the positive and ground for the 12V outlet so it has power when the key is on per the instructions. I also just purchased some heated grips from Symtec and they look to suggest wiring the same way.

My question is does anyone know if I will be overloading the electrical demands using the 12V accessory to tap into key on power for all of these? If so does anyone have a suggestion of a better way to wire everything up? Thanks for any feedback and suggestions.

From what I understand the heated grips ( I have been putting mine on for 4 years still in the package) you should go to the battery with a heavy gauge wire #12 due to the draw. Just my 2 cents.

Reading the instructions the grips do automatically shut off after 2 hrs so wiring direct to battery might not be a bad idea. Thanks.

The only way to know for sure is to do some calculating. Figure out what fuse is serving the accessories circuit. Add up all the loads from your new accessories and whatever else is currently on that circuit and see if they are less than your fuse. I would probably go with a 15-20% safety factor in there. The other option, is to add another fuse block and just create another dedicated circuit for some of the items. Pretty simple to do. I put 6 additional circuits on my Jeep to power lights, radios, etc.... and it's been a great addition. Just curious, but what sort of draw do the heated handgrips pull?
Cheers,
cc

Why are you using the 12 volt ***. For your 3- light mod?

As for all the others....They should not be on all at the same time anyway.....
Cooling fan will not kick-in much in the colder weather when you heated grips are used ..(unless plowing or working the Quad).......So I would just see what you think will be running at the same time and go from there first..........Caper.......
