Default Thinking about new 500HO

I am thinking of selling my 99 SP335 and getting a new SP 500HO or a new 500 Arctic Cat Auto. I do a lot of trail riding(hunting and fishing) and haul some wood and would like some honest opinions.

I've driven both a 500HO, and a 650 and 400 AC. Sportsman all the way...in every category. AC's are tough quads, bur ride like crap. My buddy named my HO 'the couch'.

Have you looked at the XP 550? You can get them in the $6500 range if you know how to bargin. I love my 550 XP, power, ride, build quality. Just throwing it out there to see if you've checked them out.

I was looking for opinions on durability, repair costs, maintenance. Resale is not a factor because I usually keep them about 10 years

Check out the Suzuki KingQuad 500 AXI with power steering, since you're looking.

I have had four SP 500s (01, 02, 04 and 05) and all have been outstanding. It rides smooth like your 335 but three times the power. I have never needed more power with the 500HO. It is an incredible machine, a great choice in my opinion.

The Polaris 550X is also a nice machine but I do not know if you want to spend the extra $$$ over the price of a SP500. I have ridden one and they are quite a nice machine withe even MORE POWER than the 500HO (WHICH SAYS ALOT!).

There are some deals to be had on year end SP500s!

If it were me I'd look at either the 550 or the 500 EFI version. The 500 HO version doesn't have Active Descent Control which is a better braking system. The EFI also is great for cold climates and higher elevations. Just my .02 worth.
