Default 2005 sp 500 overheating.

I recently bought a 2005 SP 500 with only 124 miles on it, The guy I bought it from was far from being a mechanic but tried anyway.... He attempted to hook up a winch and did get it to work. But it was a mess so when I got it home I took all of his mess apart and reinstalled it to factory specs using the factory wiring harness that is provided. Here is my issue, He attached the 12v power supply wire for the winch switch to the 12v power wire off the fan. Needless to say my fan will not turn on now causing it to overheat. I do have a repair manual but I cant find a fuse, Relay or circut breaker in the wiring diagram. Am I missing something? All help is appreciated.

Its iether the fan itself, check it by putting 12v dirrect to disconected fans wires. If fan works then its the sensor on the rad that tells the fan when to come on and off thats the problem.

there should be a inline relay mabe for that as well that he might have overloaded when using the winch while the fan was on on staring up. try as tlc mentioned about the differt connect on the fan. i even think if you unplug the sensor on the enigne and then turn the key on the fan should start running as it's a default setting when the sensor goes bad i think.

It sounds so simple but clean the heck out of the raiator with a garden hose. Mine was overheating due to a dirty radiator.

Ok I finaly got a chance to check it out, The fan itself is good I did the test that the repair manual says to do by un plugging the thermister sensor from the harness with the key off then turning the key on and the fan and the hot light do cycle for a short while. So my guess is that the thermister "temp sensor" is bad. I just ordered one from Ronnies $83.00 Ouch....

Are did you buy the heat sensor on the motor or the one that screws into the rad?
