Default Knocking noise

All

I know there have been lots of previous posts of knocking noise sounds. This one is coming from my cuz SP700 (2007), low miles and hours. He hears the knocking noise even at idle. He said its always done it. Is this just a Polaris feature, or could it be the belt or chain. I remember in some previous posts the REVELATION of the Drain or Fill plug in the gearcase was posted that the plug was too long hitting the chain. Is this the common problem or something else?

Please advise and thanks for the info.!

Regards,

R'

Yea when I try to hear something I really don't notice it but HE does!.

Good point about just pulling the plug and inspecting it. Maybe we will pull the bikes out today and give a look over. I need to do some maintenance anyhow.

Any other people exp. these issues with SP700, let us know so we know what to look for!

Yea thanks 700 Sportsman. Actually I think we found the problem. His clutch belt seems real lose like sagging. Inside the belt cover housing we found some knicks and some rubbing. Also, I will try to provide some pics. I did hit some Clutch belt install/replace YOUTUBE videos and we think it could be the belt or the clutch may need to be aligned or something?

Funny thing is he only has 206 miles and 48 hours. The belt DOES NOT look worn or frayed or heated, like in anything we seen from the videos. But it is a little sagging.

Does anyone know if this is "Normal" or should the belt be pretty tight?

Thanks,

R'

On my case, it's just the same. the plug is too long that it hit the chain. i really don't know about the others. i also would want to hear from their input.

I uploaded his pics of the OEM belt, see link below. Please let me know if this sag is normal or anything else you think is strange? Thanks for all the help!
