Ohh believe me if I lived up North and got blankets of snow, NO question! But I live here in the Mid-atlantic area, only seasonable snow once in a while will if be a big dump!

Forgot you were mid-atlantic. Yeah, I wouldn't own them either if I lived there.

With regards to registering them. I don't think we can register them like a snowmobile so right now I think an atv with tracks is in limbo here in Minnesota. (our atv definition states that it must have flotation tires and a snowmobile must have skis or runners for steering)

So by definition an atv with four tracks would not be an atv or sled.

We are starting to see a few around the area but down here in the southern part of the state I haven't seen any sled trails yet.

I'd still like to have them because right now we have so much snow my atv is restricted to the roads, lakes and rivers. No cross-country for me.

I Took a set of snowmobile skis and fabed them to bolt on the front hubs and tracks on the back. I use it on the trails here in Cali.

Thats pretty cool. I just hope the 4x4 doesn't mysteriously engage (while the switch is in 2x4) like they use to.

P.S. Whats the jack for?

I can't run the skis through the parking lot of the staging area (black top) or on the wood floor of my enclosed trailer, so i leave the wheels on and do the switch to skis on the trail. And I do put a strap over the 4x4 switch. But would the 4x4 engage if the hub is not turning? I thought there had to be wheel slipage for the 4x4 to engage.
