Default Vent line part broken.

Ok so I was replacing the vent hose for my gas tank tonight I pulled the old line off and I put the new on and when I was putting the new line on the little adaptor that thread into the tank popped out. I screwed it back in and put the bike back together. It leaked and now that little plastic part keeps popping out. Any thoughts on a good fix? or should I just buy a new one??\

Thanks

It's called a petcock, and IMO you could try supergluing it, but I'd say it won't last to long, or not work at all, so IMO I'd just get a new one

Isnt the petock your fuel shut off? This is the fuel vent line that is behind the gas cap under the plastic. its the little plastic adaptor that threads into the gas tank and then your vent hose slides onto that!

That's what I was thinking, he just needs the part that goes on top of the tank.

For that, I'd mix a little JB Weld and put it back in. After it sets of course.

JB Weld? Will it hold even with gas? I cant seem to find it here our city, but they do have this PermaPoxy 5 Minute Plastic Weld, suppose to be good for use with gas as well.

I'd give that stuff a try. Since the tank is already stripped out, the other option is buying a new (or used) tank. I'd try the cheaper method first.

And JB Weld can be used on fuel tanks.

Does anyone know what type of plastic the gas tank is made of? J-B doesn't work with all types of plastics.
