When I hit the electric start, all that happens is a click from the solenoid..do I have a bad solenoid or starter?

 

Could just be a loose or corroded wire check them all from the battery to solonoid to starter. Still clicks, take a test light to the positive at the starter, have someone hit the start button. If it lights up, it's your starter.

More than likely it's the starter, buy a rebuild kit and slap it in.
