Picked up a set of Prospector tracks today. Had less than 100 miles on them(not for long)!

Congrats!!!!!! Tracking up your ride opens a whole new world. I put over 400 miles on my 700 X2 last spring. I can't wait for Ol' man winter to bless me with a few feet of the white stuff so I can leave the trackless riders behind.

Your 800 will have more than enough spunk to take those tracks wherever you point them.

Here's a bit of advice though; Realize that the back tracks are fixed firmly to the frame, ie. they do not pivot front to rear. When backing down a slope directly onto a flat surface, ie cut bank -> road, you will find that the rear of the tracks will dig into the flat surface if it is not firmly packed. The best bet is to keep a good winch point available if you are not sure you can make the climb.

 

Thanks for the advice WFO. Do you have a plow on yours? I have a Glacier on mine and haven't attached it with the tracks yet. Looks like it will be tight w/o much, if any, room to blade out. Do they have an extension bracket for the plow?

 

How much did those set you back? I know Mattracks for a 1/2 ton truck are right around $30,000 so those had to at least matched the price of the machine new. Just curious.

 

Nice tracks, Switzomatic! To answer Angel's tracks for quads generally run in the $3,000-$3500 or so range last time I was looking around. I've seen them for sale at around $1,000 before.

 

That's a fair amount less than I expected! Those tracks would certainly open up a lot of snowmobile trails in VT. Being poor stinks.

 

Picked them up for $2200. Was trying to hold off on any more major purchases this year but they were too cheap to pass up.
