overheating
#1
Hi guys I do a lot of mud and my rad plugs then the overheat. Seems only tobother the polaris. Is there an aftermarket rad with larger fins or an oil cooler available. Any other thoughts are welcome.(2007 500 x2)

it doesnt happen only to polaris. my buudies BF750 has done it as well as another BF650. check out how small those fins are compared to polaris. thats why i built a trailside washer to use when we went mudding to clean it out before it dries like cement and hard as hell to get it out.

I was also wondering the same thing. It looks like theres lots of things in the way around the winch and infront of the rad on my 08 polaris sportsman...is there any of this people have removed to let the air flow in more when your out mudding...I've also seen a guy just put the whole rad up on the front rack. It makes it impossible to open the front storage but he said he never had an overheating problem after doing it!

I agree with Sten. Also remember that where there's mud, there's water. Run it back and forth in the water from time to time and that will really help. Never had a problem with overheating after running around in some water occasionally(and the frequent beer breaks probably helped too).
