Default Hand warmers

Ok so for some reason it seems that my hand warmers and thumb warmer will work sometimes on low but not on high and then at other times not at all. They were working great and then BOOM this. Anyone out there ever have any issues with theirs???

Im not sure, they were in the bike when I bought it, the toggles are 2 small round ones both have a high and low settings. They look like a round rocker switch. Im not even sure how they should be hooked up. Im going to look at the ground in the morning and see how it looks, just odd seems like when i ride the bike they come on nice and warm but when sitting nothing.

sounds like a switch issue. the older ones that actuly have the wires in the grip have the resistor. the newer ones have 2 differnt wire sections, and the oem grips slide over the wire pads. but they dont have a resistor. id check the switch for power and check the wires. sounds like the switch is the issue.

I checked last night and it seems the the switch is getting power on both sides. I know the last time I went to use the warners the switches were hard to flip on. Ill try a new switch tonight!

I've had the same issues with mine. I bought mine from the dealer in 2004 and installed myself. It was the type that uses a pad that attaches to the bar and you slide the original grips over the top. Mine seems to only work on low now but the temp. feels like hot. It seems to warm up faster if you run at higher rpm's for awhile, if I just let the machine idle it doesn't seem like they heat up. I think I have the same round toggle switch that you have. Is it possible that they wear out??

Ok so after an hour of looking at wires and what not I thought to myself Im gonna just pull the switch apart its broken already so what harm could I do. Guess what??? both were full of mud and dirt, I cleaned them both up and put it all back together and its better then it was before! Lots of heat the hand warmers and to the thumb warmer. Heres a pic of the switches so if anyone out there ever has this problem, clean them first!!!
