I hear ya... The winch went on first (2500 polaris / synthetic cable), Next I added the Lock&Ride box. I almost didn't get it because the interior room was not all that good. I then found out there is two versions. This one is much larger. I actually had 2 full size fold up chairs and my rifle (in case) inside this box with room to spare! As far as the plow - I got the Glacier II (52"). I had the Glacier I 52" and was very impressed with it (ten foot pile of snow at the end of the drive last year). Any recommendations on hand/thumb warmers? I was gonna go with the Polaris (?)

Congrats. You will love it. I just rode over 360 miles on one weekend with mine and LOVE IT!! Even with a bad back I rode 270 miles the first day without any pain. Its like butter on bread, smooth.

When you found out that there were two versions of the back storage box, which one did you select (model number) and what was the price? Is it the one for the XP...just that easy?

Concerning the thumb and grip heaters - I got the Polaris ones installed by my dealer and the HI and LO settings are good enough for my comfort thus far. I also really like the clean look of the switches that they offer.

Thanks for all the replies -
Chadly, if you look at MrThors pic - he has the other box. I looked at it and the interior has far less storage. I don't know if it is "XP" specific. My buddy put it on his 2007' 550 EFI and it fit perfect - even with his "rack extenders" / metal rail. If you look at the pic. It's about 2" recessed for easy access around the rail. As far as the model# I will have to check. It was the same price $199. I will take some pics tomorrow and leave another post. As far as I'm concerned, I just saved $200 by not having to buy the gun boot!!! + my buddy has the gun boot (lock&ride) and he hates it..."always in the way". Anyhow, pics in the morning!

There are four "slots" for switches like this that are somewhat marked from the inside of the pod (so my dealer said). They aren't both on the top right/left but located on the left upper and left lower so that I don't have to reach as far to change the settings with my left hand. The other slots can be used for PIAA lights, switch for a seat warmer, vest, etc...
