Default 02 Sportsman 700 rebuild

Hey guys. What would be a reasonable price to rebuild my 2002 Sportsman 700? It has over 2500 miles on it and starting to hear various noises... I am debating a new ATV or pay to rebuild.

Any input is appreciated

Firs of all,Has the engine been maintained and have the valves been adjusted???
Could be valve train noise from rockers not being adjusted.

There is no adjustment for the valves on a 700, they have hydraulic lifters.

well, is it just the motor that needs rebuilt, or some drive train components (Front. Diff=$$) also

Hard to know what it needs without some kind of description of what it's doing.

Thanks for the replies. The noise sounds like a slight grinding but not too severe. Honestly, it sounds like un oiled pistons. I would say the engine needs rebuilt for good measure. If it has to come out for one thing, might as well do it all right?
