Question glacier edge

Hi all

I have a glacier 48" blade and need to replace the "edge" ( it is wearing into the bolts)

Where can I get a replacement edge? I looked all over...

Also is there a better longer lasting edge out there???

thanks

Dealer should have them. On my 02 700 I got a piece of flat stock steel, clamped it to the stock wear blade, and used the holes as guides for drilling the new piece. Cost next to nothing and worked great!

Did you turn it over once? I purchased the heavy duty wear strip from my local dealer, it is about double the thickness of the stock bar. The normal wear strip cost 50 the HD cost 65.

If you can find someone to fabricate a new piece for you have them make it 2" bigger. This will increase the HEIGHT and WEIGHT of the blade making it more effective.

And if you haven't already done it, add the upper rubber deflector to the top of your blade.

The stock cutting edge can be flipped as MegaXP suggested.

If its wearing into the bolts, the mating surface on the blade itself is the same way. Better check that out as well. Otherwise any polaris dealer can get you wear bar or check out babbittsonline.com they have them cheaper but have to pay a little freight.

Unfortunately it IS wearing into the bolts.

So I do need a new strip (or I may flip it over), but I will need to find new bolts for it.

You can get new bokts at just about any auto parts or hardware store. Make sure to use stainless. More expensive but they'll last longer.
