Default 72" plow

would a 06' 500EFI Sportsman be able to push a 72" polaris blade with 27" mud bugs on it for rubber? would the 72" blade fit on the same glacier 1 mount as the 54" blade?

I came into a 72" glacier 2 xp system new for about $325. I dont know how well it will push it. It will boil down to where you live, how much snow you get and the weight of the snow. After the first pass you can always take less than a full pass if it is a wet or deep snow. I will be pushing mine with an 850 xp. I havent had any snow yet so I dont know how well it works on the 850. My big concern is whether my quad has enough weight to keep from sliding the front to the side when the blade is angled. The blade mounted up to the g2 xp pushtubes without a problem. It is 10 1/8" to the inside of the upright reinforcing ribs where the pushtube bolts to it.

guessing, but i would think the wheeler won't have enough weight to push it very well unless it's very light snow and not many inches of snow at once. imo

agreed, you'd have to be plowing under 3" or less of the wet stuff, and I can't imagine how that would force you around, my 54", sometimes slides me off the edge of my driveway

Ditto on the above posts. Even if it will push a fair amount of snow you have to look at the long term affects on your machine. You already have bigger tires. Add a monster plow into the mix and you are looking at some early driveline issues. Never hurts to try but if it is struggling or sliding you around I'd look at dropping back to a 60".

72" is too wide IMO also. It may work ok on up to 6" of light fluffy snow but you could posibly twist the plow frame with heavy snow.A 60" plow is plenty wide enough!

It depends. For perspective, I have a 35HP 4WD diesel tractor that weighs about 4000 lbs, with a seven foot rear blade and a front end loader. I also have a blade for my ATV. For serious snowplowing I use the tractor, natch. But in close quarters and for quick cleanup, I use the ATV, it's more nimble. But a 6' blade seems awful big for an ATV.
