If you take the bulb out, you can take it in to an auto parts store and they should be able to cross-reference it to a higher-output light. The 'cool blue' halogens seem to put out close to double the light as the stock one, without overloading the electrical system or overheating the light housing.

You are kidding me! Our local NAPA is able to do this. I wish I had kept the bulb #s.
The bulbs will look a little different in shape and/or size. What you are looking for is so it will plug into the same socket and fit in the light housing, and have HI/LO filaments. I think on my machine the hi/lo was 60/50 or 65/50 watts.
Come to think of it, I have an Xplorer, and I suppose it is possible they have different bulbs in them, but I would still think they could find something to match.
Sorry I wasn't more help.

There is a guy somewhere in here called Snowride, who has put better lights on his machine (I actually got the idea from him) and I think he might know the actual bulb #s he used. Worth a try anyway.

I know what you are talkng about...those bluish bulbs are called Zenon bulbs I think.

They have L.E.D.'s inside of the bulb instead of filaments. I want to see if I can get a bulb to match my light socket. I heard they are expensive.

I put a brighter bulb in my wife's 98 Sport 400. It takes a "H3" bulb that is available at any automotive shop, K-Mart, Wal-Mart, etc.

The Sport 400 comes stock with a 55w bulb. I put a 100w "Diamond Blue" H3 bulb from Pep Boys in it. The bulb cost less than $10.00.

You can get all different wattages (brightness), colors, (white, H.I.D., blue, Xenon, etc.) from J.C. Whitney. They run just about $10.00 a bulb.

Good luck!

I assume it's the same bulb as is in the Sportsman if so go to your P dealer and buy a 100W snowmobile bulb. This is what I have and it's great.
