I would love to be able to keep the gravel out of our yard. However, with a steep incline exiting the driveway to the main road makes that nearly impossible. Plus the fact, that if you leave a hard packed surface of snow and ice, and the UPS guy, or someone else slips and falls in your driveway, or has a accident in your driveway because of the ice/snow buildup... you better have a good Liability Limit on your homeowners policy.

Not many folks have the option of using a front end loader to spread some sand around.

I keep my dirt/rock driveway scraped right down to the dirt and clean the gravel out of the yard in the spring. It's better than having somebody getting stuck in the driveway, or getting in a car accident, or having a liability lawsuit on your hands.
