My Sportsman 700 smelled like gas all day, while off hunting, and when I went to start it to get home. It would not start. Checked the dipstick and sure enough there was no oil showing & smelled of gas & it just easily dripped off the dipstick. Got towed home. I just checked the air filter & it is totally dirty & little air would pass through it. Would this be the problem or is it the carb?? Thanx in advance

I drained about 1 gallon of a gas & oil mixture. there was only about 2 quarts of oil, which its suppose to be a few weeks ago. so gas got tothe base somehow, & something caused it.

 

Check the needle and seat in the carb. It is not shutting the fuel off.

what year is your 700?

 

needs a new needle and seat in carb, start turning the gas off when not in use.
