Question warn xt30

found a good deal on an xt30 but nothing else just the winch, hook and rope. Will it be compatible with contactor from my 2500lb. polaris "warn" winch piece of s**t?

As long as it the Polaris Warn winch they are made by Warn but make sure it says both names and not just Polaris as that is a off brand winch that has a lot of issues. Where did you find this winch? If It is new it should come with a contactor and the only thing you need to buy is a mounting plate!

yup you can. i got a warn xt winch. and then got an aftermarket contractor. i did this to 2 of my wheelers. worked perfect. the only thing is the 2500lb had a lighter ga wire than the 3000lb. other than that you should beable to use the same mount and wire.

i would also agree with dodge. make shure its a warn brand winch. and not the crap made by polaris. there a good paper weight..... for $260. it soom like a bad price as the warns are least $400

just to agree w/ above. if it does not say WARNon the winch w/ the word polaris or made for a polaris, then it is NOT warn winch. the knock off look alike warn winches that polaris used w/ the polaris logo was made some where else. also as stated, the cable dia. is the big differnce in the amount of poundage a winch pulls out as the more weight requires big gauge cables. imo

He displayed pic. It is on the HL forum, he had 3 different winches and other misc atv items. Posted by the THA MAN. Do you guys think the wire guage difference would be that significant?

my guess* is that there isn't a big differnce in the gauge or the wire. example is if you were to look at a parts break down of the 2 winches side by side, i (again guessing) they will have the same gearing. i ahve looked at a 2000 vs. a 2,500 lb and there is no differnc ethat i can remember between the 2 insie parts. just the wiring harness was differnt. hence that is how warn upgraded there 2,000 to a 2,500 lb winch. imo

I guess I missed the post that the polaris 3500 winch is a POS.Could someone tell me why and redirect me to someone who has had major problems.
