just wondering took apart driven clutch to check spring and buttons..aside from dust they looked fine,,when I put everything back together again the belt is very loose no. I ma not sure why this happened as I put it together the same way..now it is slapping the cover and will not engage hi or reverse....any help on how to tighten...

If its the NON ebs clutch, there are three (3) washers between the clutch sheaths, you can take up to two(2) out,one must be left in. This helps take up slack on belt. PLUS is clutch prewound properly? OPT

i will say it it a white spring and by what I see online it should be factory red... When I took it apart I marked proper alignment on cam,,,when I put it back together i put spring ends in proper holes and did a slight clockwise twist to get it in..by slight I mean about 1/2 inch or so...is that enough or even the correct direction...thanks for your time..and also should the buttons be rounded off or should they be fan shaped...

you sure the drive clutch isn't stuck out from debris on the shaft.Give it a tap and use some brake cleaner or compreesed air .
new buttons look kinda like a mushroom ,if yours look like a christmas tree,it's time for new ones.
belt should be at about the top(even) or higher of the driven clutch, when installed

while you have it apart you should use some emery cloth or something on the helix ramps(all of them) and slick them up so that everything will slide easily when in operation.
Spring color isn't so important, mine has a purple one and is supposed to be red also, and it works fine. Just be sure to set the spring in the proper holes 2 & 2 and proper preload of the spring ,i believe it is a third turn counterclockwise.

it's going to have alot of slack upon reinstall. jack up the rear wheels and start it up and put it in gear and see how it does.
Watch both clutches for operation ,the front one should squeeze in early ,the rear with no load on most likely will not expand. easy on the throttle as there is no load on the engine ,you can use the hand brake a lil so the motor doesn't overrev
