odessa canyon
#1
Just got back from a week in Calico CA. A group of four of us did the Odessa Canyon trail on our 500 Tourings. All I can say is these quads kick butt rock crawiling. We used spotters to keep from flipping on some of the steeper climbs, but all they did was rest their hands on the front, no need to keep us from going over, no winching, no tow straps. The best part was watching a group of jeeps pull up the canyon and watch us go up the "wall", after we got to the top they turned around and went back
. I didn't think the short wheelbase would work on these steep rocks, but these babies proved me wrong. I didn't have my camera so I'm leaving a link to jeeps running the canyon. BTW I've got 30 years of offroading in my jeep, now it sits most times because my wife has her own quad and I don't have to listen to her scream in my ear

I agree about rock climbing. 2-up quads rule the rocks. I've had my X2 up a few rocks that were about 3 and 4 feet tall that were 70 degree inclines. Crawled right up and over. Had to lay on the handlebars but it did it with ease.
