What is the diffrence in an E-1 head and an E-2 head 2 on stroke 400 motor ? Is there any diffrences? I have an97 express 400 with e-2 head and a 97 parts bike motor . I want to use rope pull starter off e-2 motor on e-1 motor. Thanks

great! im glad to know all parts interchange..... Now for my next question? Is there a water pump in tyhe 400 motor? What makes the water circulait through the radiator? Thanks

 

Yes it has a water pumpin the same housing as the flywheel

 

is there any thing to look for in the waterpump? to make sure its still good. I looked at the motor today i plan to use. It does need to have new bearings on crank shaft. It has some play on the clutch side of the shaft..

 

Just look for wear spots on the shaft and other wear parts
