Exclamation 97 scrambler carb help! URGENT!!!

I have a 97 scrambler fresh off the rebuilt top end. bored piston, all new gaskets. Got her back together and she took a little bit to start...but started. Ran progressively better during first 20 minutes keeping her below 1/3 throttle...per break-in procedures. all new oil and everything. during a trip around the block...she just died. would not start back up. after checking things out i found my carb pissing gas out the drain hole...while NOT running. Now, with just gravity, it still pisses out gas AND fills the combustion chamber to the point of pouring out the exhaust manifold untill i shut off the gas at the tank. WTF is going on! i had rebuilt the carb before with the popular items....jets, gaskets, carb cleaner. Does anyone have an idea BEFORE i push this thing out to the curb and cut my losses? Thank you!

You need to check the float, needle and seat. It may be that a small piece of trash is lodged in the needle and seat. If this is the case just clean it well with carb cleaner. You may also have a bad float, if it has a hole in it it will sink and cause the same problem. When you remove the float shake it ,if it makes a sloshing sound it is bad. good luck

VERY important here - beware of hydrolocking your engine - you can bend your connecting rod in this case! I would correct this problem with the carb before you spin the engine again.
