I messed up the motor on my 07 sportsman HO 4x4, so now I need to get a new one. Any places where they sell complete engines for cheap? Also, anyone know how hard is it to install? thanks

 

what cc?? if you're handy with a wrench you should be able to do it yourself. still should buy a manual ,clymer or haynes.
you're sure the engine you have cannot be repaired??

 

Try ebay or see if it's rebuildable and go the least inexpensive route. I think popo might offer remans too.

 

Not to sure on the cc, its a sportsman 500 HO, i decided im going to try and install it myself, i work on trucks, but never an atv.

I took it to a local shop where they opened up the motor, it had a piece missing in the cylinder wall. The cam, head were still good, but cant remember what else didnt work.
I found a used complete motor for $1000, low hrs and mileage, think its a good deal?

 

I'd be interested to know how much OEM engine replacements are but also scared to know the price, lol..lol

that doesn't sound too bad for a low hr used engine at all. any kind of warranty? R' i'll bet you can add an extra $1,000 to that price i'm guessing.

Holy crap that's nuts!!!!! I suppose that's a dealer though. I asked once when I still had my 03 F-250 with a 6.0 diesel what those engines run and the dealer said they're around 16k-ouch!
