maybe a new owner of a polaris, but have a question first.

ok so I am looking at a 2005 polaris 800 EFI. I test drove it today from a individual and it runs great. has plenty of get up and go.
My question is when I romp down on the gas I am getting a "Chatter" sound coming from the belt area on the left in the big plastic area. Is this a problem with the belt or can it be fixed?
Also I am wondering what everybody's opinion is on this particular year and size?
It has 160 hours and I think 1500 miles.
Please let me know what the chatter sound is before I purchase this atv and get into trouble with it.

I also forgot to ask, when I was checking the bike out, I notice that It only has 1 brake disc on the back, is this correct?
Why doesn't both back wheels have disc brakes?
I forgot to metion this is the 2005 800 limited edition with dual stainless exhaust.

the single brake is correct, it's just they way they are. As for the chatter, it's hard to tell, exactly, if you do buy it, I would replace the belt, especially if it hasn't been replaced, and see if that helps

it might be the belt or the clutches. wither way it would have to come apart to be checked out and at least buy a belt and clean them. may consider this when agreeing on a price as it may cost $$ to fix it.
price form ronnies.com on the belt= BELT-DRIVE
3211130 (replaces 3211106) 1$135.19

I think that's a decent price, it depends on location, and other things too, but I think that's reasonable depending on what is required to fix the clutch issue
